Five attorneys reprimanded, including Arkansas Supreme Court justice's husband

FORT SMITH — A federal judge has reprimanded five attorneys, including the husband of an Arkansas Supreme Court justice, for acing in bad faith and abuse of the court system.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge P.K. Holmes III on Wednesday reprimanded John Goodson — husband of state Supreme Court Justice Courtney Goodson; his law partner, Matt Keil; Jason Earnest Roselius of Oklahoma City; and Martin Weber Jr. and Richard Norman, both of Houston.

The order stems from a class-action lawsuit against auto insurers that lawyers dismissed from Holmes' court and refiled a settlement in Polk County state court.

Holmes said the move was to avoid an adverse decision in his court and to benefit the attorneys financially at the expense of plaintiffs.

Can't wait for the day when that heading reads: Seven attorneys from Central Florida publicly reprimanded.

I can dream.
