Sheridan School District Calls Special Election to Extend Millage Rate

The Sheridan School District has scheduled a special election for November 18, 2025, asking voters to approve a 9-year extension of the district’s current millage rate to help fund major school improvements.

The district has qualified for $11.5 million in state partnership funding to construct a new East End Elementary School adjacent to East End Middle School. To secure these funds, the district must generate its local share of the project cost, which requires voter approval of the millage extension.

School officials stress that the proposal will not increase the current tax rate of 36.0 mills, which will remain the same regardless of the election outcome.
