POPE COUNTY, Ark. Court records show a couple jailed in Russellville for alleged child abuse is now facing additional charges, including attempted capital murder.
Husband and wife, 39-year-old Chris Freeman and 27-year-old Katelyn Freeman, were arrested after a police investigation following a 7-year-old boy in critical condition who was admitted to Arkansas Childrens Hospital on July 15. The pair, at the time of their arrest, were each facing a charge of battery in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The seven-year-old was admitted to Arkansas Childrens Hospital after being taken to the Dardanelle Regional Medical Center by the Freemans the morning of July 15.
Medical staff at the time described the child as pale, limp and extremely underweight at just 28 pounds. Authorities said doctors told investigators that after years of malnutrition, the 7-year-old was a near fatality.

(1,117 posts)Who on God's green earth is so depraved that they would treat any child, let alone their own child, like this? That poor innocent little boy to have such monsters like that for parents. The very people who are supposed to love him, care for him and protect him.
I hope the little boy makes a full recovery, although I'm not sure that would even be possible, and those two assholes never set foot out of prison again.

(18,799 posts)The boy may have autism maybe.. The kids with autism tend to be locked away. Also I wonder if the boy may have been a foster child not a "blood child" as the 2 younger children were not treated him he was..

(557 posts)When I had my kids, I wanted them to have every opportunity to make the most of themselves. Like that old CSNY song, Teach Your Children They both turned out fine
