These are some of the changes made to Arkansas voting ballots What to know

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — As we quickly approach the primaries happening in March, early voting numbers in Pulaski County have already been outpacing those of four years ago.

As the largest concentration of Democratic voters in the state decides who will take on Republican incumbents this fall, some election officials say some voters are still surprised by the rules when they check in.

Before voters in Arkansas ever touch a ballot, the choices that they're offered depend on party registration.

Arkansas GOP is holding a partially closed primary, which means not all voters are eligible to vote in the same races. Election officials said that distinction is more noticeable this year as voting numbers climb.
