(1,258 posts)Back when I was a reporter in the Bay Area, I wrote an article about a guy by the name of Jim Berkland. He was a geologist for the USGS who predicted earthquakes, amazingly accurately, by tracking reports of missing pets. It seems that some animals don't like to stick around if they sense an earthquake is coming.
