City Attorney closes election mailer investigation, fines group $1,000

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fresno City Attorney Andrew Janz has closed the investigation into a group behind some controversial local election mailers that were sent out.

Brandon Vang, a candidate for the District 5 special election that is now underway, called on the City Attorney's Office to open an investigation into a political group called 'Fresno Future Forward' after a controversial mailer was sent out highlighting Vang's past.

Vang accused the group of violating state and city campaign disclosure laws and misusing city resources to send out the mailers.

In a letter sent on Tuesday, Janz identified the person behind the group as 'Riley Moore.'
