San Diego's 'Trump House' Owner Hospitalized In Critical Condition Following Brutal Attack; Neighbor Arrested

A 69-year-old North County San Diego man known locally for transforming his property into a sprawling display of pro-Trump banners, American flags, and political signage is fighting for his life after what police describe as a brutal daytime assault that has now led to an attempted murder arrest.

On Wednesday, May 20, at approximately 2:14pm, officers with the Escondido Police Department responded to the area of East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street following reports of a violent assault in progress. When officers arrived, they discovered an elderly male suffering from what authorities described as “significant injuries.” A bystander who reportedly intervened during the incident was also injured.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, but responding units located a man matching the suspect’s description near East Mission Avenue and Begonia Street, roughly half a mile away. Authorities identified the suspect as 32-year-old Escondido resident Thomas Caleb Butler, who was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted murder under California Penal Code 664/187(a).

The victim has not yet been formally identified by police, but multiple media outlets identified him as Kerry Sheron, a 69-year-old Army veteran believed to own the property long referred to locally as the “Trump House.”

and one of those other things is an inciting incident for violence/conflict which has nothing to do with politics.

And of course there is utterly pointless violence all the time in this country.

If this was left v right political we will never hear the end of it. And if it was right v right political we will never hear of it again.

Only time will tell.

The suspect accused of allegedly viciously hurting the elderly owner of the San Diego “Trump House” is a Navy veteran with “severe PTSD,” a family friend exclusively told The California Post.

Butler’s friend even said he “liked” the house, which Butler lived mere blocks away from, and supported President Donald Trump as a registered Republican.

The attack stunned the Butler family friend, who doesn’t know why he would have allegedly assaulted Sheron.

He “sits in his room and thinks everyone is coming to get him,” the friend said, suggesting Butler suffers from intense paranoia.

This might not even be about politics, or about it in a tangential way.

And I saw that picture too. I don't condone that either.

While I disagree with the homeowner's political views I do condemn the attack. There's no place for that behavior in our society. I live across San Diego Bay in Coronado and when you enter Coronado from the Coronado Bridge you'd pass a house that had Trump and MAGA flags, banners calling for Biden and Fauci's arrest, and similar signs. To my knowledge, no one attacked the owner, their house, or their flags/banners. Note: that house removed those items but still has a sign posted against Gavin Newsome spelling his name as Newscum.

We may have different views on politics, sports, economics, and other issues but but committing violence against them is stupid. I'm reminded of a quote in Issac Asimov's novel "Foundation" which said "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

Let's not become incompetent.

Stay classy America.
