More Than 2.2M Ballots Counted as LA County Certifies Primary Results

ELECTIONS — The results of Los Angeles County's June 2 primary election are now official after the county certified the final vote count Friday.

The certification closes the nearly month-long canvass process, during which election officials reviewed, verified, and tallied outstanding ballots before finalizing the results.

According to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's Office, 2,227,461 ballots were processed and counted, representing 37.81% voter turnout countywide.

Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan certified the results Friday, the first day counties were allowed to certify under the timeline set by the California Elections Code.
