Palmer Lake tallies special election votes for Buc-ee's-inspired land annexation question and recalls

PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KKTV) - Voters in Palmer Lake are casting ballots Tuesday in a special election that could reshape town leadership and change how future growth is decided.

At the heart of the ballot are two recall questions aimed at removing trustees Kevin Dreher and Shana Ball.

The recall committee accuses Dreher of failing to provide fair and transparent leadership, pointing to his support of annexation eligibility for a proposed Buc-ee’s travel center, approving plans despite public opposition, and allegedly violating open meetings laws.

Dreher has pushed back, saying those actions were procedural and lawful, and that the recall is really about disagreement over the annexation process.
