Plymouth Election Guide: Sekorski (D) challenges Kilduff (R) for mayor

PLYMOUTH — Local Republicans and Mayor Joe Kilduff and Democratic challenger Dave Sekorski and his team both promise to push for continued economic growth and infrastructure improvements if they prevail in this municipal election.

Plymouth has traditionally held an overwhelming Republican majority in local politics. Sekorski believes his experience may be enough to change that. Both Kilduff and Sekorski have expressed support for long-term plans to revitalize downtown.

Kilduff is seeking re-election for a third two-year term. He promises to “continue strategic investments that will result in long-term improvements for the town.” He said he has enjoyed being able to make a difference and wants to continue to have a hand in bettering his hometown.

“I love the job,” Kilduff said. “I’m the sort of person who has always tried, if there is a difference of opinion, to bridge that gap and come up with a solution that most people can live with. But sometimes you are unable to do that in this position. You have to do what is in the best interests of the community.”
