Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting in D.C. that left multiple people wounded Wednesday evening.
According to a spokesperson with the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 1100 block of 21st Street, Northeast shortly before 6:15 p.m.
Very little is known about the shooting at this time. Police confirmed to WUSA9 that five people were shot, and one has died. A child is among the surviving victims.
