A farmer found a massive alligator in an irrigation ditch in Sumter County, Georgia.
The enormous gator, which was estimated to be 50 years old, was 13 feet, 4 inches long and weighed between 700 and 750 pounds.
The farmer called the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. They believe the gator had been in the ditch for about a week.
The gator was in poor condition, with several injuries, including gunshot wounds.
Alligators do not commonly stay in one position that long, which led officials to believe it was dying.
Because of the alligator's poor health, it had to be euthanized.
