Flowery Branch Mayor Asbridge announces he will not seek re-election

The mayor of Flowery Branch, Ed Asbridge, announced that he would not seek re-election at the city council meeting Thursday night.

Post 5 Councilman Oliver McClellan announced that he would seek the position, and Asbridge gave his support to McClellan.

“My report is only that Mr. McClellan and I talked about that, and I will be throwing my support behind Oliver McClellan,” Asbridge said.

With McClellan running for mayor, the council will have an open seat.
