Reynolds plans to run for mayor

After 12 years of serving District 4 on Milledgeville City Council, Walter Reynolds will not seek reelection and will instead seek election to become the city’s new mayor.

The 37-year-old Reynolds announced his political intentions to run for the city’s highest political office several weeks ago. He is the youngest city alderman ever elected in Milledgeville and one of the youngest city elected officials in Georgia.

Reynolds, who owns Old Capitol Productions and formerly served as acting executive director of the Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority. He is currently attending Georgia College & State University, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration.

Reynolds and his wife, Emilie, a lawyer and a member of the Milledgeville Planning & Zoning Commission as well as the Georgia Military College Board of Trustees, said they both love serving the community.
