Secretary of State calls for Macon County elections supervisor to step aside after federal fraud charge

OGLETHORPE, Ga. — Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is calling for Macon County's election supervisor to away from her job, after she was charged with federal fraud Tuesday.

Tarshea Fudge-Riley returned to the Macon County Board of Elections Thursday. She is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud.

Fudge-Riley declined to comment on the pending litigation.

On Thursday, Raffensperger released a statement calling for Fudge-Riley's "immediate suspension." Macon County Commissioner Carl Oliver responded to that statement.
