Augusta mayoral runoff: Johnson, Kendrick make final push before election day
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Polls open Tuesday for Georgia’s runoff election, with the Augusta mayoral race among several key state and federal contests on the ballot.
Incumbent Mayor Garnett Johnson will face challenger Steven Kendrick in a rematch of their 2022 race.
Johnson said change has been evident across the city during his tenure.
“Little over four years ago I started this campaign focused solely on change. I believe that we have been effective in delivering that and growing Augusta, being actionable and accountable to the taxpayers, and then results driven,” Johnson said.
