GREENE COUNTY SEES SEVERAL CONTESTED CITY/SCHOOL ELECTIONS

The candidates for the city/school election in Greene County have been released and there are several contested races.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, there are six individuals running for three Jefferson City Council at-large seats. Those candidates include incumbents Harry Ahrenholz and Darren Jackson, along with newcomers Sue Bose, Eric Carlson, Paul Hostetler and Luke Winkleman. Current City Council member Pat Zmolek is not seeking re-election in November. As for the other city council elections, there are contested races in Grand Junction with six people running for three seats, Churdan has two individuals seeking to fill a vacancy on their City Council, and there are four people for two council seats in Scranton.

According to Greene County School Board Secretary Laura Marshall, there are seven individuals running for three seats on the school board. Those candidates include incumbent Cindi Daubendiek, along with newcomers Katie Nelson, Scott Graham, Nicole Chisum Megan Holz, Spencer Kirk and Jeremiah Goughnour. Additionally, there are no contested elections for the Paton-Churdan School Board. Board Secretary Lisa Willardson says all three seats having their respective incumbents running unopposed and those individuals are Mitch Stream, Zach Schweers and Dennis Tilley.
