Unofficial results for West Des Moines city council runoff election

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Results from Polk and Dallas Counties are in for a runoff election for a vacant West Des Moines city council seat.

Fannette Elliott is the apparent winner. She received a total of 1,939 votes in Polk County, which is 61.07 percent of the total vote, and 345 votes in Dallas County, which is 45.10 percent of the vote there. Katherine Harrington was also running. She received a total of 1,222 votes, or 38.49 percent in Polk County, and 418 votes, or 54.64 percent of the vote in Dallas County.

On social media, Elliott thanked voters for their support, saying, she looks forward to being their next city councilwoman.

There were 14 write-in votes in Polk County and 2 in Dallas County.
