Is going to trigger so many people, and right after the 20th anniversary saturation.
So I guess just cry every day?
Am I doing this right?

(1,093 posts)This'll continue until we've nationwide Martial Law. Then, no U.S. Constitution, and no more free, fair and open elections. No 2026 Midterm Elections. We'll all then be living in one big open air prison.

the national guard does not have to be entirely negative. many of them live and work here, and if we treat them like they are almost long lost relatives "close to home" they may even decide whose side they are on. anyway, i was happy to have them after katrina.
the masked immigration agents, on the other hand ...
we are a city and a neighborhood of immigrants. i want to tell these guys to treat our people humanely

(23,920 posts)Having them in your neighborhood to enforce illegal orders is quite another. Yes, they are our neighbors and we may even work beside them but they took an oath and when in uniform, they are deployed to protect and help us. They are not a police force or an agency to cause harm. I am not military but I do know they have a right to refuse unlawful orders and the superiors should be held the standards our Constitution has granted..the oath is to the constitution, not a person.
I lived at St. Roch and Dauphine for 37 years. A huge hello from Panama!!! Im so with you!
I always paid for their drinks - soft drinks, sadly - and was so grateful to be able to leave my first floor guillotine windows open at night when there was no electricity.
They were amazing. I love what they did more than anything, and Im sure we both have the best stories..
I worry about people having..reactions.
I LOVE that a neighbor replied.
