The slate is set: Two candidates locked in for Stockbridge Select Board election

Stockbridge — When town polls open on August 26 for a special election to fill the Select Board seat vacated by former member Patrick White, residents will make their choice from two candidates: Jorja Marsden and Charlotte “Sally” Underwood-Miller.

The last day to request a vote-by-mail or absentee ballot is August 19.

The opening follows White’s June 10 Select Board resignation, leaving Chair Jamie Minacci and member Ernest “Chuck” Cardillo on the dais.

As a 31-year town employee, Marsden said her candidacy is strengthened by previously held positions as well as those boards, committees, and commissions on which she is currently serves, including the Stockbridge Finance Committee, Historic Committee, and the Historic Preservation Commission. She began her tenure in Stockbridge as an elected town clerk in 1985 before retiring in 2016 as the town administrator, while serving as assistant tax collector, assistant treasurer, and secretary of the Planning Board in between. “So, I know all of the aspects working for the Town of Stockbridge,” Marsden said.
