What is opt out signal?

I am trying to open the strib page and it quickly changes to a black screen with one line at the top. At the bottom it says "opt out signal honored."

All I can do is reload and after few seconds same. And it says that "your opt out signal is active and being honored on this site"

What is that and how do I get rid of this?

The black screen happened before but I never noticed the Opt-Out Signal note.

I am using iMac OS Ventura 13.7.7

That's the problem. You need to have your AirPods in, your Apple watch on and, oh yeah, make sure you're using the very latest iPhone and, almost forgot, are wearing Apple underwear...

command-shift-delete keys pressed at the same time, then released. Clear everything. This will wipe out any log-ins, but should clear out anything set by mistake. it might also be due to needing an update to Firefox (check help, about to see if there's an update).

THat site could be switching to paid mode and your ad blocker could be interfereing. It could also be a very old computer running a no longer supported macOS version.

There are a few things to try. But unless you have a techie friend sitting at your keyboard trying things out, it will be tought to help too much more from the other side of the country
