Chris Coleman suspends his campaign for governor

I’m disappointed but there are other good candidates in the race .

From Chris -

For the past 15 months, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to travel to every area of Minnesota and meet with people from all different walks of life. I am grateful for the support and encouragement I have received. So, it is with a heavy heart that I announce today the suspension of my campaign for Governor of Minnesota. Minnesota is a special state with truly amazing residents. Hearing your stories, your hopes and fears, was an inspiration as I did the hard work of campaigning to be your Governor.

The 2018 DFL field for governor is very strong. As the candidates continue to campaign, I encourage each of you to stay true to our shared progressive values: good jobs for working families, universal health care and a retirement that we can all depend on. In a time of growing wealth inequality, we must continue to remind Minnesotans that economic security is what the DFL has always stood for.

We have an opportunity in 2018 to establish a DFL majority in the state legislature and elect a governor who will continue to advance the cause of progress for all Minnesotans. Though I hoped to be that governor, rest assured that I will be right there with you, working to make sure that we make the most of this opportunity.

Finally, I want to thank my supporters, volunteers, friends, family, and staff, for standing with me throughout, not only this campaign, but the past 12 years in the City of Saint Paul. I especially want to thank Connie, Molly, and Aidan, for always believing in this work and in me. No one person is responsible for all that we have achieved, and I am grateful to everyone who was and remains committed to our collective future. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Chris

As it was, I just would not talk to anyone, either did not answer the phone or just said that I did not have time to talk.

Now I wish that I raised the point, to see the reaction, if at all.
