Boone County sees above average voter turnout in special election

COLUMBIA — Boone County saw an above average amount of votes for the August special election cycle.

A total of 15,801 ballots were cast which made up about 12.58% of the total registered voters.

The percent of voters is slightly higher than the 10%-11% that the County Clerk Brianna Lennon predicted.

2,709 absentee votes, or 2.16% of registered voters in Boone County, were cast prior to the Aug. 5 election.
