Over 4% of N.J. voters have already cast their ballots

With three weeks remaining until Election Day, New Jersey voters have returned 275,418 vote-by-mail ballots, according to an analysis by VoteHub.

Of those ballots, 173,325 (63%) are from registered Democrats, 62,485 (22.7%) from registered Republicans, and 39,608 (14.3%) from unaffiliated or third-party voters.

Roughly 913,486 mail-in ballots have been sent statewide — including 524,195 to Democrats, 178,927 to Republicans, and 210,364 to other voters. That means Democrats account for a 57.4% share of all mailed ballots, compared with 19.6% for Republicans.

Republicans continue to return their ballots at a slightly higher rate — 34.9%, compared with 33.1% for Democrats — though the Democratic Party’s sheer registration advantage keeps their total returns far higher.
