I'm getting at least one call or text a day from one of the 12th CD Democratic Candidates.

I already voted and yesterday, the daughter of one of the candidates called me to ask me to vote for her father. I told her I already had voted for him.

That was fun.

I signed up to attend a live debate, and attended. To do so I had to give out my phone number and email address. Apparently these bits of information were shared with the candidates.

I don't mind. I cheer all the candidates on telling them that if they win the primary they'll have my support in the general election.

It is claimed that combat surgeon Adam Hamawy has a strong lead. He is the US Army surgeon who worked on Senator Tammy Duckworth when she was wounded in combat in Iraq. She has endorsed him. He has also worked on a volunteer basis to treat children and adults wounded in Gaza by Israeli weapons of mass destruction.

I didn't vote for him in the primaries, but my view is that there's a lot to like about him. If he wins though one of my best friends will abstain from voting. He won't vote Republican, but he won't vote for Hamawy, I'm sure.

He plainly confesses that he's a one issue voter, support for Isreal.

I of course strongly disagree, but as he is a close friend, I don't get into it with him. We agree on almost everything else.

I voted for Sam Wang. He has the same chance as the Statue of Liberty coming to life and taking a robot back to France, but a primary is where you vote for your closest match while agreeing to accept differences with my fellow Democrsts and support them if and when they are the nominee.

If the polls are right and Dr. Hamawy wins he has my vote. I am grateful for his service to Senator Duckworth and others and the decency he showed to do something about Gaza.
