DeLuca and Sullivan win in Maplewood, Reform Dems candidate finishes third

ncumbent Maplewood mayor Vic DeLuca and John T. Sullivan won the Democratic nomination for Township committee in Maplewood.

De Luca leads with 3,417 votes, followed by Sullivan with 2,869 votes. The Reform Democrats’ candidate, Martin Ceperley, finished third with 2,391.

Incumbent Deputy Mayor Deborah Engel ran for Essex County commissioner, and Dean Dafis, who was briefly a candidate in the Special election for New Jersey’s 11th district, is retiring.

Engel and Ceperley shared a slogan.
