Voter turnout could be low in 2025 elections

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – It’s no question voter turnout in presidential years tends to be significantly higher.

According to Tim Krebs, a political science professor at UNM, whether a year is even or odd is a major contributor.

“If you have an election that’s in an odd numbered year, like we do in Albuquerque, there’s going to be less attention paid to that contest.”

Krebs says demographics also play a role.
