Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri tests positive for COVID-19
Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement Friday.
Palmieri experienced minor symptoms but is feeling better and will quarantine for the appropriate amount of time under CDC guidelines, the statement said.
The mayor said he is working from home during his quarantine, in a tweet Friday. All city departments remain fully functional and there has been no impact to city operations or services, the statement said.
“I want to thank everyone for their outpouring of support,” Palmieri tweeted. “Please take this seriously and stay safe.”
