Longtime Martin County elections director retiring

MARTIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Another longtime Eastern Carolina elections director is retiring.

Martin County Elections Director Kristy Modlin is planning to leave in several months.

Modlin has been head of the elections office since 2009, and before that, she worked in the county’s finance office for just over 11 years.

Modlin says she’s been grateful for her job with the county. She hasn’t set a definite date, but says she’d like to be gone by June, at the latest.

I should ask them about this, as that side of the family is more... progressive.
