According to Grocery Dive, an internal company memo from Krogers CEO Ron Sargent said these reductions are part of structural changes to its administrative teams across the U.S., aiming to simplify Kroger and refocus priorities.
This latest round of job cuts marks the third round of layoffs at Kroger in just eight months. This indicates, The company is working to rebound following its failed merger attempt with Albertsons, said Grocery Dive.

(4,811 posts)I asked at the Customer Service counter what the purpose of the cards was. The girl at the counter said that it was so the store could be better informed what kind of products their customers wanted. I said "OOH! I'd like for the store to carry spinach noodles! Here's my card!"
She just gave me a blank stare.
"Kroger has been collecting data on its customers to track their loyalty, then selling that data to the highest bidder"
