Oklahoma State Senate candidate Barry Christian has been found dead two days after he went missing, local authorities confirmed. He was 54.
Christian was last seen in Sayre, Okla., on Tuesday, April 28, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) said in a release shared to social media. The following day, the Sayre Police Department (SPD) received a report that Christian was missing.
Police in Beckham County located his vehicle in the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area on Thursday, April 30, around 9:45 a.m. local time.
He was said to be inside a 2024 gray Ram pickup truck, KOCO reported.
Christian was one of three candidates running in the Republican primary for District 38 of the Oklahoma State Senate.
