Charlie Hales announces he'll limit campaign contributions in Portland mayoral race

Charlie Hales, a candidate for Portland mayor, announced in a press conference Thursday morning that he would limit campaign contributions in the November general election.

As part of his pledge, Hales said he wouldn't accept any donation over $600, would only accept money from Oregon donors and wouldn't self-fund.

Hales loaned himself $100,000 in the primary.

He faces state Rep. Jefferson Smith in the general election.
