Madras bank robbed on eclipse day
The U.S. Bank in Madras was robbed Monday afternoon, just four hours after the total solar eclipse blocked out the sun and thousands of people were traveling through town.
A man walked into the bank at 42 SW C St. about 1:58 p.m., demanded money and left with an unknown amount, according to the Madras Police Department.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Madras police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies already in the area for the eclipse are investigating the case. FBI agents are also on the scene.
