Police arrested 37-year-old Elizabeth Ann Bohrer of York Haven on Monday. She has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault with a victim less than 13, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence, driving on the sidewalk, reckless driving and obedience to traffic-control devices.
The spokesperson also said the driver was alone and they do not believe the incident was "intentional."
According to the criminal complaint affidavit filed against Bohrer by Harrisburg Police, she allegedly showed signs of impairment when detained by police. The arresting officers noted Bohrer appeared "out of it" and gave "verbal and visual indicators" that she was under the influence.
At the hospital, police attempted to interview her about what happened, but noted she kept falling asleep and speaking about "random things" that had nothing to do with the alleged incident.

(12,080 posts)I hope it's as bad as she so richly deserves. Even after prison, life is going to be difficult, to say the least. Getting through it with a record of even one felony is hard. A dozen or so will make it well nigh impossible.

(15,923 posts)I had a near miss in May 2021. Scared the shit out of me. I was not dui of course. And I am not a careless person. But I was out of practice.
I had last driven in either 2017 or perhaps early 2018. I only got my license in the March of 2014.
I was nursing my mom (she had multiple myeloma) at the time and she asked me to take our car out of the garage since it seemed like a small thing.
Our car at the time was a stick shift. I managed to take it out alright. But then I had this really stupid idea of practicing a little in our driveway just to see if I remembered how to drive.
Instead the second time, I got the brake and the accelerator confused and drove straight through our gate into the street and crashed into our neighbors wall.
Fortunately there was no one anywhere near by. I dont know how I would have lived with myself had I injured someone. It was a pretty quiet street back in those days and at that time of the day (mid-day) it was usually empty.
But still..that was scary and after that I decided to stop driving for good. I have enough going on that thats not something I want to mess with.
