'Packaging error' prompts Lancaster County election office to issue new ballots to 150+ voters
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. Some Lancaster voters will be receiving replacement mail-in ballots after a packaging error sent them multiple ballots.
The Lancaster County Board of Elections announced on Thursday that 165 voters in Leacock Township were impacted by what they called a "packaging error" by the election office's printing vendor.
Officials said that the voters were sent two identical ballots for the Nov. 4, 2025 municipal election in the same envelope. The issue was isolated to Leacock Township, and officials said no other precincts or municipalities were affected.
The impacted ballots have been canceled and replaced in the county's system, officials said. Voters who have listed an email address on their voter registration have been notified by email that their ballot has been canceled and replaced.
