Rally in support of Social Security in Newport - Tues July 15th

The weather looks iffy again for Tuesday. If the heat is a health and safety issue, we will cancel. I will keep you apprised.

We rally to voice our concern regarding changes at SOCIAL SECURITY, and to show our support for their staff.
TUESDAY JULY 15
3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
130 Bellevue Ave, Newport, RI

Please stay on the sidewalks, and respect all private property. The plaza where the SSA office is located is private property. We will bring extra signs.

DOGE, Lee Dudek, and Frank Bisignano have broken Social Security, an agency that functioned well prior to this disruption and dismantling. They are breaking it, so they can privatize Social Security.

Meanwhile, our data is at risk. A couple of weeks ago SCOTUS gave DOGE permission to access our data. This is in violation of the Privacy Act of 1974, and the statutory parameters embedded in Social Security when created.

Misinformation is coming from the SSA about elements within the "big bogus bill" that will supposedly benefit recipients. They even sent out an email to propagate these falsities.

I continue to post these and other local rallies on my FB page: Accidental Activist, Rhode Island.
