Spartanburg County sheriff's race heads to runoff between Rhyne, Clevenger

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Two candidates for Spartanburg County sheriff will head to a Republican primary runoff election later this month after neither candidate received more than 50% of the votes.

Bill Rhyne and the Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger will face off in a runoff election on Aug. 19.

Early voting for the runoffs will be held Aug. 13-15, and the general election will take place Nov. 4.

Any eligible voter can vote in the primary runoffs, even if they did not vote in the primary election on Tuesday.
