They're not imploding, they know it's a captive audience that will vote for them NO MATTER WHAT they do.

Wanna run for office in Texas and you are secretly a Democrat? Simply put an "R" next to your name on the ballot and you'll be a shoo-in.
Most Texans will vote for anyone with an R. Go figure.
