Early Plano election results: Voters show support for largest bond package in city history

Voters in Plano are supporting the city’s largest bond referendum in its history with unofficial election results showing support for $650 million in city projects, from street improvements to a new police headquarters, meant to keep the aging city’s infrastructure maintained.

Based on unofficial results from early and mail-in votes, support for the bond referendum is leading for all seven propositions.

City council races are supposed to be nonpartisan, but the Collin County GOP inserted themselves this year and officially endorsed candidates in these races. It looks like all of their endorsed candidates for Plano City Council have lost. This is a very red county. I just checked the results again and 58 out of 59 vote centers have reported and the leads in the article above are still holding. Wow!
