Judge voids Howard County Emergency Services District election
BIG SPRING, Texas (KOSA) - A judge has voided the May 3 election that approved the creation of Howard County Emergency Services District No. 1.
The ruling was made after the court found that the election process violated provisions of the Texas Health and Safety Code, according to our news partner KBest Media.
The decision from the 118th District Court followed a petition filed in June by Howard County resident Craig Wyrick.
The petition claims the election results were invalid because votes from the extraterritorial jurisdictions of Big Spring, Coahoma and Forsan were not counted separately, as required.
