Houston's job market tanks in July--education hit especially hard

Houston lost 30,500 jobs in July, according to the Texas Workforce Commission, with the steepest losses concentrated in education and government services.

While summer job losses are typical for the region, particularly in July, this year's decline was notably larger than average. The Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) reported that the drop in employment exceeded historical norms, signaling heightened economic pressure in key public sectors.

We went thru this in the early 90’s when the oil business crashed.Had to reserve a UHaul truck 2 weeks in advance.

Hope your family member makes it!

This 30,000 plus job loss is just Houston. Wonder about the rest of the State?

Maybe the govenator is hiding the job losses with the election map mess. Could be.

Fellow Citizens & compatriots -

I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the MAGAS under Abbott, I have sustained a continual erosion of States’ Rights for 6 months and have not lost a seat - The enemy has demanded a gerrymandered surrender otherwise, the Democrats are to be put to the sword, if the State is taken - I have answered the demand with a flipped bird, & left the Legislature - I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on Newsom, Pritzker, and Hochul in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch - The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase MAGA strongholds in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country - Victory or Death.

With apologies to William Barret Travis.😉

States’ rights my butt!
