How did Austin's Proposition Q do?

KVUE's Daniel Perreault and Melia Masumoto reporting from watch parties for and against Austin's Proposition Q.

====================

Proposition Q would have increased property taxes by 20% to cover current deficits and also increase funding to the homeless and affordability projects. The voters rejected the measure by almost a 2-1 ratio.

The proposition may have passed in better economic times, but with people coping with inflation and the proposition not having tangible benefits for most taxpayers it was a poor idea to consider a tax increase now.
