Texas judge blocks Ken Paxton's request to muzzle Tylenol maker on drug's safety

A Texas judge on Friday denied Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request to block the maker of Tylenol from issuing claims that the painkiller is safe for pregnant women and young children, and from paying out $400 million in dividends to shareholders as the case proceeds, court records show.

Paxton’s legal team has argued that Johnson & Johnson and its spinoff company Kenvue failed to warn consumers that the drug could cause autism spectrum disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Studies have not found conclusive evidence of a direct link between Tylenol and either disorder, and many doctors and scientists say it is safe.
