The No Kings demonstrations are showcasing a shift in our politics that Texas Republicans can't ignore

by Cassie Clayton

I joined the No Kings protest in Fort Worth, Texas on March 28th, 2026.

While final attendance numbers are still being verified, this downtown Cowtown gathering was one of more than 3,300 rallies reported across the United States.

In North Texas alone, more than twenty-five protest locations were identified across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, drawing regional and national media attention alongside coverage of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which was also taking place nearby.

This moment follows sustained public engagement, growing protest turnout, and increased local organizing. The “No Kings” demonstrations are now being categorized as the largest so far in the history of the United States, with current estimates around eight million attendees.
