This guy was Paxton's defense attorney for many years. He is willing to cross the aisle because he sees the current climate as very bad, and he is pointing out that feeling with his endorsement. People in Texas voted for republican Cornyn for a long time. Breaking the cycle and putting a dem in the seat is a BIG deal. We can't do it alone, at the very least we need the independents. This is a very good thing. With his endorsement this guy is encouraging other independents and republicans to also cross the line and take a chance on Talarico. It is a brave and honorable thing for him to do.

We democrats in Texas are very excited about the opportunity to possibly flip a seat. This is actually huge for us, and should be huge for the party at large. If we can get California, NY, and Texas - it is game over for republicans.
