Park City primary election nearly settled

The two incumbent members of the Park City Council seeking reelection advanced out of the primary election on Tuesday, while a community activist claimed the third spot on the November ballot and the fourth place appears to have been secured by a Main Street businessman.

A set of preliminary results released on Wednesday afternoon shows incumbent City Councilor Tana Toly was the top choice with 1,080 votes, or almost 22%.

Diego Zegarra secured second place with 969 votes, or just under 20%. Incumbent Jeremy Rubell is one step closer to possibly securing another term. Rubell earned 648 votes, or 13%, putting him in third.

The fourth candidate advancing to the November ballot will likely be John Kenworthy. Kenworthy received 562 votes, or just about 11%. Beth Armstrong is trailing close behind Kenworthy with 538 votes, or more than 10%.
