Snohomish County first responders help free driver from under cement truck

SKYKOMISH — A person suffered significant leg injuries from being trapped for nearly two hours under the tires of their cement truck Wednesday morning.

At 8:47 a.m. Wednesday, Snohomish County Fire District No. 4, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue’s technical rescue apparatus and rescue technicians responded to a report of a trapped person at the 69600 block of 130th Street.

King County Fire stabilized the victim while waiting for other first responders to arrive. Attempting to drive the truck off the victim would have caused further injuries, according to a Snohomish County Regional Fire & Rescue Facebook post.

When technical rescue crews arrived, they stabilized the truck using struts while Dick’s Towing lifted it with one of its tow trucks. Firefighters and paramedics were able to free the victim. Sky Valley medics transported the victim to Providence Medical Center Everett.
