Economic arsonist Donald Trump raises tariffs on China again; Washington's senators demand Republicans stop enabling him

Egged on by the likes of Peter Navarro, Donald Trump is continuing his unprecedented, unhinged assault on America’s economy by imposing additional retaliatory tariffs on China, amounting to an unprecedented 104%, which will supposedly take affect at 12:01 AM Eastern tomorrow (Wednesday, April 9th, 2025).

China’s commerce ministry responded with a harsh, unyielding statement that read in part: “The U.S. tariff escalation threat against China compounds its mistake and further exposes its nature of blackmail, which China will never accept… China will fight till the end if the U.S. side is bent on going down the wrong path.”

While Trump traded barbs with spokespeople for President Xi Jinping’s autocratic government, Washington’s senior United States Senator Patty Murray was reiterating the need for Republicans in Congress to stop enabling his economic arson and help Democrats restore the country’s system of checks and balances.

“Families are going to feel the pain of Trump’s new tariffs everywhere they shop. And, as one of the most trade-dependent states in the country, Washington state stands to lose among the most from Trump’s destructive trade war,” said Murray at a press conference this morning that discussed the repercussions of the tariffs.

I would set an export tax on everything sold to the US, match the Trump Tariff. It would be painful for us, slightly painful for China, but they still have exports to the rest of the world. Oru prices would shoot up way more than the Felon's tariffs, but people would just associate it with Mango Mussolini. Backlash would be huge
