Boeing lands major widebody order from Qatar Airways

Some fat orange guy took our 747

Qatar Airways reached a deal with The Boeing Corp. and GE Aerospace for up to 210 widebody aircraft, the White House announced Wednesday, including at least 30 Everett-built 777X aircraft with GE engines.

-snip-

The order includes at least 30 777X aircraft and 130 787 Dreamliners, according to Bloomberg, with an option of 50 more planes of either type.

-snip-

The 777X is Boeing's largest aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 426 passengers, but it remains uncertified for use. Still, the company hopes to begin 777X deliveries to customers next year.

The deal is one of two Boeing landed this week in Saudi Arabia coinciding with the president’s visit.
