Seattle Children's layoffs include Everett employees amid federal cuts

EVERETT — Seattle Children’s Hospital will lay off 154 employees this fall, including positions at Seattle Children’s North Clinic in Everett.

The company faces “significant financial impacts” due to anticipated state and federal cuts, a Seattle Children’s spokesperson wrote in a statement Friday.

“As a result, we are making some difficult but necessary decisions to secure Children’s future and protect our ability to deliver compassionate care and life-saving research for the patients and families who need us,” the statement read.

In addition to Everett, the layoffs will affect employees in Seattle, Bellevue, Federal Way and Kennewick, according to a filing with the state Employment Security Department. The company will also eliminate 350 open roles.
